As a part of the CDC-RFA-OT21-2103: National Initiative to Address COVID-19 Health
Disparities Among Populations at High-Risk and Underserved, Including Racial and Ethnic Minority Populations and Rural Communities, the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) is one of three national partners providing Technical Assistance (TA) to grantees.

NNPHI partners with an extensive network, including Public Health Institutes, to offer coaching to enhance other forms of technical assistance, learning initiatives, and capacity building provided to grant recipients. Equity leaders participate in coaching to support the integration and operationalization of equity-centered practices, procedures, and policies to improve health outcomes.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.

Coaching helps public health leaders build, leverage, and expand public health infrastructure that is rooted in equity. If you are interested in driving culture change within your organization, addressing health equity within your community, and improving population health for the people you serve, contact us to request a coach.

NNPHI partners with our network, including Public Health Institutes, to offer additional technical assistance in the form of onsite Action Learning Labs.

Action Learning Labs are a form of technical assistance in response to TA requests that benefit from facilitated in-person working groups. These scalable working groups are designed to improve the efficacy of existing or new TA provider and grantee relationships by operationalizing the ongoing ECHO mini-series theme of ‘Gather Your People: Roadmap to Real Change’. Action Learning Labs will focus on utilizing best practices for effective coalition building to leverage and expand support for populations that are at higher risk and underserved.

Please email covid19healthequity@nnphi.org for assistance with submitting a TA request on best practices for effective coalition building to leverage and expand support for populations that are at higher risk and underserved.
